One effective way to build skills in speaking and listening is to provide a model for what successful and unsuccessful communication looks like in the real world. Whether it is written, spoken, or nonverbal, we communicate all the time (even when we don’t realize it). Use these resources to more explicitly teach skills that will help learners become more aware of how they communicate and strategize to communicate better in the future.
