4 Demigods | Greek and Roman Mythology Thematic Unit Middle and High School ELA

Students will enthusiastically sing along with you to that memorable line from Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson’s performance of “You’re Welcome” from Disney’s Moana, where he sagely reveals he’s a demigod: “Breathe it in / I know it’s a lot / The hair, the bod / When you’re staring at a demigod!” While there are quite a few demigods (like The Rock’s Maui) to discuss, this unit specifically covers four, making it perfect for middle and high school students. It also offers a fantastic array of engaging activities, question banks, and graphic organizers to enhance your next mythology unit.

Note: PDF, Google Workspace compatible

The thematic unit contains the following (total of six lessons):

I created this resource when teaching Heroes, Gods, and Monsters of the Greek Myths by Bernard Evslin with middle and high schoolers, but it works well with any English Language Arts or Humanities tie-in to the myth of the demi-god (and a great teaser for the Percy Jackson novels). Know that this educational digital download is a supplement to a unit on Greek Mythology. It contains links to the texts of myths but does not contain the protected intellectual property of other authors. The content provided is either the original content of Stones of Erasmus or contains content that is in the public domain. It is designed for an English Language Arts Mythology unit
